RHODE ISLAND DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT FOR TOLL LOCATIONS 3, 4& 6 THROUGH 13 WARWICK, PROVIDENCE, PAWTUCKET, CRANSTON, JOHNSTON, CUMBERLAND, EAST PROVIDENCE, LINCOLN, NORTH SMITHFIELD, RI Per 23 CFR 771.119(h), the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT), in conjunction with the Federal Highway Administration, announces the release of the Environmental Assessment (EA) for public review for the proposed toll systems at Toll Locations 3, 48 6 through 13 on 1-95, I-195, 1-295, US Route 6, and RI Route 146 in Warwick, Providence. Pawtucket, Cranston, Johnston, Cumberland, East Providence, Lincoln, and North Smithfield, Rhode Island (Proposed Action). The purpose of the project is to construct and operate toll systems at Toll Locations 3, 4&6 through 13 and assess tolls on tractors or truck tractors, as defined in 23 CFR 658.5, pulling a trailer or trailers at the toll locations. The EA evaluates the environmental impacts of the proposed project and considers the direct, indirect, and cumulative impacts. The EA also evaluates the No Action Alternative and the Proposed Action Alternative.
